Cursive handwriting is a fantastic skill for third-grade kids to get familiar with.
In particular, the cursive letter 'S' is one of the most frequently used letters in the English language, and therefore one of the most important for third graders to learn how to write. Learning the letter 'S' in cursive will help kids develop sentences within their cursive writing education.
This sheet helps them practice writing out a cursive 'S', before putting together the sentence 'Sophia sells shiny shells by the sea' using cursive letters. By learning to write a full sentence, kids can understand why they are learning each letter individually, and how the letters complement each other to make different sounds. With regular use of these worksheets, children can begin to learn how to write independently, and even experiment with writing their own words and sentences!
