Ieuan is a name of Welsh origin and this name is generally given to baby boys. It is the Welsh version of the names Ifan and John. The meaning of Ieuan is 'gift of God'. A church in Llantrisant has been dedicated to the sixth century saint, Saint Ieuan, in Anglesey, Wales. Ieuan ap Hywel Swrdwal was a Welsh poet and the first Welshman to write a poem in the English language. It is said that the poem was written in the 15th century and the poem was an address to Christ through the Virgin Mary.
