Jaw-some Facts About The Nurosaurus For Kids

Contents

Even though the entire skeleton of the Nurosaurus has been discovered, the Sauropod genus remains a mystery.

Paleontologists discovered Nurosaurus's fossil in Inner Mongolia. The huge skeleton reveals the full might of these plant-eating dinosaurs. But its classification, behavior, and other features have never been given a scientific description. For this reason, the taxonomic name of the genus has been declared a nomen nudum. Still, given the nature of their skeleton, these dinosaurs have been informally declared as a genus of the Sauropod family. Dong Zhiming named them Nuoerosaurus in 1991, which he later revised to Nurosaurus in 1992. Its type species is referred to as N.qaganensis, which is sometimes spelled as N.chaganensis.
