Leshansaurus dinosaur fossils were unearthed from the Shangshaximiao Formation strata of the Late Jurassic period. These deadly-looking dinosaurs were mid-sized theropods, bigger than other theropods of that era.
The first specimen was found of an adult in 2007 where a partially complete skeleton of the species was discovered from the rock formation.
