About the event

The ride is included in your admission ticket so you can definitely make the most of your time there! There's loads to do - if your kids are mad for cool machines, they’ll love turning giant wheels and twisting huge cogs to make water move through the museum, which makes the perfect pitstop on a day out in Kew. It also houses the world’s largest collection of stationary steam pumping engines, a huge steam locomotive and a gallery that traces the history of water in London. When the weather's warmer the museum opens its Splash Zone, which is always a lot of fun, especially for younger kids.

Kidadler Laura highly recommends the London Museum of Water and Steam, saying: “We went with my boys (8 and 6) and baby in a pram. It's the second time we've been, and it was lovely and quiet. It’s a really interactive museum with loads of wheels and things to turn and pump, lots of big engines to look at, and a great little splash area outside. It was really fun and if your kids are into machines it's brilliant.”

There are often multiple special events taking place at the museum during school holidays on the same day, so make sure to check out the other listings on Kidadl to figure out the best day to go!
