26 April-14 June 2019. Sessions last 45 minutes.
The Chickenshed is a 10-minute walk from Cockfosters Tube station (Piccadilly line), or 12 minutes from Oakwood (also Piccadilly line) station. By bus, you can follow the 298, 299 and 307 and z routes, which will practically drop you off at the Chickenshed’s doorstep.
There is free parking right outside of the venue and the car park is foreseen with direct, flat access for wheelchairs and buggies, and there are multiple disabled parking bays. If the theatre car park is full, you can also find free parking on the surrounding streets.
To the left of the main entrance, you will find the accessible changing room that is equipped with dropdown rails on either site of the toilet, a wall-mounted changing bench that can be adjusted in height, a wheel-in shower, handrails and a shower chair. The changing room is foreseen with an emergency chord.
The venue and parking area are both buggy friendly, but buggies will need to be left in the public bar area during your show. There are several lifts inside the venue and the baby-changing room is spacious enough to enter with a buggy as well. Babies in car seats may be carried in with you.
You won’t have to worry about going hungry here – Chickenshed’s bar is catered by Brothers Grill, and serves delicious, reasonably priced and kind-friendly food in generous portions. This is a great place to fill your bellies before a show or even during performances: the area quickly converts into an extra show space for music, comedy and jazz nights.
Menus and programmes are available in braille; the education facilities have a house-own braille printer, too. Shows are performed with sign and spoken language. The venue offers special shows for people with autism and adjust stimulus accordingly.
Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Please print Kidadl booking confirmation and show on entry. For ages 0-3 years only. Seats are unreserved, with a mixture of chair and floor seating. If you require specific seating for mobility or access reasons please let the Box Office know.
