Area 51 is one of the strangest places on earth. It has many secret and surprising facts about it!
Area 51 is located by Groom Lake in Nevada. It has been in the news recently.
In 2019, a Facebook event called 'Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us', was created. This event entailed many people storming Area 51, to find proof of aliens or technology that has long been hidden from the public. As many as 1.5 million people signed up for this event. There were many internet memes based on the planned invasion. The theory regarding the presence of aliens dates back to the time in history when unidentified flying objects (UFOs) were recorded in this region, in the mid-20th century.
Throughout history, this place has been associated with stories of unidentified creatures, futuristic technology, and flying objects. As exciting and thrilling as these stories may sound, there is no evidence of such activities going on in the region. Located in the south-central part of Nevada, Area 51 has successfully gained the attention of a subculture of people who are dedicated to theories related to conspiracy theories.
Area 51 references have also made their mark in pop culture and have been adapted in movies like 'Independence Day' and 'Paul'. People in southern Nevada claim to continue to spot UFO-like objects in the sky, so imaginations still run wild.
Area 51 is a part of a U.S. military base. This place is guarded and patrolled by some of the highest securities in the world. This gives rise to many conspiracy theories regarding the presence of UFOs and aliens in the region. There is a large number of mysteries and conspiracy theories regarding extraterrestrial happenings in the region.
In 1989, a man named Robert Lazar claimed to work on alien technology at the site. In an interview with Las Vegas Radio Station, he confessed that he witnessed extraterrestrial activities within the camp. He told a reporter that he also saw alien autopsies inside the facility, and the U.S. Airforce housed spacecraft within the facility. It was after this interview the secret site called Area 51 was revealed to the public eye.
Area 51 has been present for a long time. The site was developed in 1955, exclusively for military work. Soon, officials realized that the place was ideal for testing U-2 Training Pilots. Within eight months, U-2 aircraft were developed, and radar specifications were fully capable by 1959. All these activities made Area 51 a restricted area and people were not allowed onto the site.
After catching public attention, there have been a few efforts to break into Area 51. The site has armed guards patrolling the area, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Many people do not believe that Area 51 is simply a military base for testing aircraft and pilots. The UFO-like objects spotted over the region do not seem to fit in the theory of confidential aircraft testing sites.
Being a testing ground for a U-2 aircraft, numerous flights are common in the region, especially at night. Since they are high-tech planes, they tend to look like what people imagine alien spacecraft to be and people mistake them for UFOs.
Area 51 is a U.S. military base which is located around Groom Lake, in southern Nevada. This military installation is under the administration of Edwards Air Force Base in southern California. Even though Area 51 is a highly secretive flight testing facility of the U.S. Air Force, there are many extraterrestrial conspiracies associated surrounding the installation.
The rectangular base is located near Groom Lake in Nevada and is 6 by 10 mi (9.7 by 16.1 km) in size. It is a part of the Groom Box, which is a facility that docks many high-tech Air Force aircraft. The employees of Area 51 get to work with the help of an aircraft. They use a secret terminal in McCarran International Airport. Their airplanes are permitted to fly above the airspace to stay off the radar. There was no satellite image of the place till 2018, adding to the secrecy and conspiracy.
During World War II, U.S. Air Corps used this place as an aerial range for gunnery. In 2013, documents regarding the presence of Area 51 were released. These documents are the first acknowledgment of Area 51 by the U.S. government.
Nevada's airbase did not gain fame due to its life-saving military purpose. The main reason for the wave of popularity surrounding Area 51 was the news of UFOs flying in and out of the area at night. According to popular beliefs, the place is a site of extraterrestrial research.
It was only very recently, in 2013, that the public became sure that Area 51 existed and is under tight government surveillance. Strangely, the place was mentioned by any U.S. President until 2013, when former President Barrack Obama revealed its existence while making a joke at the annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony.
People were reported spotting flying saucers in the clear sky in Nevada near the southern military base, as early as the 1950s. On June 17, 1959, Reno Evening Gazette published a story covering the experience of Sgt. Wayne Anderson of the local sheriff's office. It was stated that the sergeant saw a bright, green colored object that was flying at a speed much faster than an aircraft.
The theory of extraterrestrial activities in Area 51 intensified and finally captured worldwide attention after Robert 'Bob' Lazar, a man who claimed to be posted in the secret camp, was interviewed about the hidden secrets of the facility. All of his statements were discredited once they were aired, but this act spurred several conspiracy theories regarding the government, and most of them included extraterrestrial life.
When it comes to Area 51, there are a diversity of theories. One such theory is the theory of the fake moon landing. According to some conspiracy theorists, Neil Armstrong's moon landing was fake. They believe that the fake moon landing theory was staged at the site, and filmmaker Stanley Kubrick collaborated with NASA to create a perfect moon landing video.
The Facebook event, ''Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us', became so popular that the government was made aware of it. Officials highly discouraged attempts to access the area illegally and increased the presence of troops there, on that day.
