Bill Kroyer is an American director of animated and CG commercials, films, title sequences, producer, screenwriter, cartoonist, and Visual Effects Animator.
Along with Jerry, Bill Kroyer is best recognized as one of the lead CGI animators in the film Tron. Bill Kroyer founded a small commercial studio, Kroyer films, with his wife Susan Kroyer in 1986.

Bill Kroyer was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States on August 19, 1950. The names of his parents and siblings are unknown.
Bill had enjoyed drawing since he was a child, but he had no experience with animation until he was required to make a film for an advertising class in college, and he chose to make an animated short film. As a result, he went to the bookstore and purchased a book on animation. He simply created this tiny animated video of a small snake with a cap spinning and staring at him, and he sketched it and filmed it when it came back prepared, and he was hooked on the creation that came to life. He became obsessed with animation after that day. Since he discovered animation, Bill has idolized Eric Larson, who was one of the Nine Old Men.
Bill is a Lane Tech College Prep High School graduate. He subsequently went to Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism to earn his bachelor's degree in journalism.

Kroyer started his career in animation at a studio around 1975. He ultimately landed a job with Disney Studios in 1977, where he worked on 'The Fox And The Hound' as an animator, although he subsequently quit. He met Steven Lisberger, the director of 'Tron', at that point. The key animators for the CGI sequences in 'Tron' were Bill and Jerry Rees.
Kroyer went on to work with Robert Abel and Associates and Digital Productions after 'Tron' was completed.
Bill worked on the following movie titles from 1982-2000. 'Animalympics' (1980), 'Tron' (1982), ;Starchaser: The Legend Of Orin (1985)', 'Computer Jetsons: The Movie' (1990), 'Warriors: The Adventure Begins' (1990), then 'FernGully: The Last Rainforest' (1992), 'The Green Mile' (1999), 'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas (2000), and 'Rugrats In Paris: The Movie' (2000).
Soon after, Bill Kroyer became Senior Animation Director at Rhythm and Hues Studios. He oversaw CGI animation for films including 'Scooby-Doo', 'Cats & Dogs', 'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas', and 'Garfield'.
In early 2009, he began teaching at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University in Orange, California.
In 2017, he and his wife Susan were the first pair to be honored by the International Animation Society with the June Foray Award for their contributions to the art and industry of animation.
