Blake was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 16, 1989. His father is Tommy Griffin and Gail Griffin. Griffin also played baseball and football before playing basketball. While growing up, he practiced basketball in the gym owned by the father of his friend, Sam Bradford, an NFL quarterback. Fortunately for Blake, his father, Tommy Griffin, was a basketball center and track standout, which ignited his passion for sports. Upon his mother's request, he was homeschooled till he was in the eighth standard in Oklahoma City. Then he went to study and play at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond, Oklahoma, and then the University of Oklahoma. Griffin was known to be one of the most decorated players to ever play at the University of Oklahoma. Despite him playing only two seasons at the University of Oklahoma, he ranked first in the career field goal percentage.

Blake Griffin is best known for being a great basketball player. Though he has won many awards, he does not have any championship rings.
Griffin is known to have won four high school state titles at Oklahoma Christian School before playing for Oklahoma Sooners, where he was named the national college player of the year as a sophomore. He was drafted by the NBA in 2009 for the first time. After two seasons for the Sooners, he was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009-NBA Draft. Griffin scored 44 points against the New York Knicks and a career-high 47 points against the Indiana Pacers and set a Los Angeles Clippers franchise record for most points by a rookie. Griffin received six of the national player of the year awards in his sophomore year.
Due to injuries even before the first season as a rookie, Blake Griffin missed an entire season and made his debut as a rookie in 2010. He moved to Detroit Pistons in 2018 and later signed up with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021. 
Blake Griffin was also selected to compete for Team USA in the 2012 London Summer Olympics but had to leave after he injured his knee during practice. He was a unanimous selection to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Following his phenomenal rookie season, Sports Illustrated listed Griffin as one of the 'NBA's 15 Greatest Rookies of All Time'.
Griffin suffered injuries again in 2015 and was ruled out from playing. The period from 2015-18 was an injury-prone time for Griffin, though he still managed to sign again with the Clippers in a whopping $173 million contract for five years. 
Blake Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2018, where he played till 2021. He scored a career-high 50 points in October-2018, helping his team Detroit Pistons, win against the Philadelphia 76ers. Blake Griffin missed quite a few games in the 2019-20 season due to injuries and surgeries again. 
Blake Griffin signed with the Brooklyn Nets in March 2021. Tall and agile, Griffin plays as a power forward and has managed many highlight dunks.

'Dunking For Dollars' is a charity fundraiser started by Blake Griffin. He apparently donates $100 to fight childhood obesity for every single dunk he makes during the season. Blake Griffin also donated a Kia Sedan to a charity auction, and the proceeds went to Stand Up to Cancer. He has a fundraising site called 'Team Blake' in memory of his friend Wilson Holloway.
Blake Griffin also pledged to give $100,000 to the staff of the Little Caesars Arena as they were struggling due to the pandemic in 2020.
