Bob Bryar's interest in music started at a very young age when he played jazz drums for his school band. In 2000, Bob Bryar started his career as a sound engineer.
In 2004, he worked as a sound engineer. And it was during this time he worked with several bands and met the band 'My Chemical Romance.' After his group's tour ended, he joined the band as a drummer. Bob Bryar replaced Matt Pelissier. Hence, the music videos of the album, 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge', all feature him.
In 2006, his third album was reviewed positively by both critics and fans and achieved immense commercial success. It earned double platinum in both the US and the UK. However, while filming for a music video for the album, Bob Bryar sustained burns on his legs and arms. Gerard Way, the lead vocalist of 'My Chemical Romance,' was also injured, and hence, the band's performance in San Diego was canceled.
'My Chemical Romance' had to cancel a show again a month later as Bob Bryar was hospitalized due to a staph infection.
In 2007, again, shows had to be canceled as Bob Bryar developed issues with his wrist. Even though Bob Bryar could not perform as a drummer, he continued with the band's tour till 2008, helping with on-stage pyrotechnics.
In 2010, 'My Chemical Romance' (MCR) announced that Bob Bryar had left the group on their website.
Although he is no longer a part of 'My Chemical Romance,' Bob Bryar has been credited with writing five of the songs for their fourth album.
