The initial name of the band was Silas, and the band was active from 1997-2003. Other band members include Chris Lewis and Gary Burkham as bass players, drummer Anthony Walker, and guitarist Ben Heffley, while Cody Jinks played the lead guitar.

Unchecked Aggression's first album 'The Massacre Begins' was released in 2002, featuring tracks like 'Kill Me Again' and 'Hell Razor'. Unchecked Aggression was disbanded in 2003 after a trip to Los Angeles.

Cody Jinks switched to country music and began to release songs in 2008. In 2012, he released an album titled '30' and an EP titled 'Blacksheep' in 2013. In January 2015, Cody Jinks recorded a high-ranking album titled 'Abode Sessions'. The album was ranked number eight on Heatseekers Mountain and number two on Heatseekers South Central.

In 2016, Cody Jinks released another album titled 'I'm Not The Devil'. The album reached number four on the Top Country Albums chart with a huge sale of 11,300 copies within the first week of release. In January 2017, he released a cover for the English rock band Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here'. On October 24, 2019, both Jinks' October-released songs ranked first and second for Top Albums on Apple Music and iTunes. In November 2019, he released a new album 'Mercy'.
