Daniel co-hosted TSN's 'SportsCenter' weekday broadcast, along with TV personality, Jay Onrait, which used to be aired at 1:00 a.m. (ET). He hosted the show from 2003- 2013 and again from 2017-2021.

In May 2013, Daniel O'Toole and Onrait announced that they were leaving TSN and Canada at the end of June and would start working as co-anchors on the Los Angeles-based channel, Fox Sports 1. In August 2013, he started working for Fox Sports 1 and their final show was aired on TSN on June 28, 2013.

The duo returned to TSN after their Fox sports show was canceled in 2017, and they continued to host 'SC With Jay And Dan', until February 4, 2021.

Dan O'Toole's broadcasting career started at Algonquin College. There, he did play-by-play commentary for the Ottawa 67s. In 1997, following his graduation, he went to Vancouver and started reporting on traffic for CFUN-AM and CJJR-FM, from a four-seater plane.

In 1998, he moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where for three years, he was the sports director for CKYX-FM and CJOK-FM. Dan O'Toole gave detailed running commentary for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons during his time there. Dan O'Toole began working as the Fort McMurray news reporter at CTV Edmonton in 2000, in the evening shifts, while he continued working as the radio sports director in the morning shift.

Dan O'Toole co-hosted the weekday broadcast of 'SportsCenter' with Jay Onrait, from 2003- 2013. He brought viewers a full summary of the sports events of that day, including post-game reports and highlights, as the host of TSN's 'SportsCenter'. While he was there at TSN, Dan O'Toole continuously traveled to the different communities located all over Canada, with Jay Onrait. There he used to co-host 'SportsCenter', as a significant part of the Kraft Celebration Tour and TSN, which is held every year in summer.

In 2013, TSN announced that Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole would be leaving 'SportsCenter' for better opportunities and will only be hosting 'SportsCenter' until the end of June 2013. They announced on their weekly podcast that they would be working as co-anchors for the Los Angeles-based Fox Sports Live 1 channel. Dan and Jay wanted to bring new changes in the American broadcasting sports highlights culture. In 2000, he also received the opportunity to work for CTV Edmonton as a reporter.

Following a harsh time with the Fox Sports Live channel, TSN announced it had re-signed both Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole in their previous roles at the network, hosting 'SC With Jay And Dan', on March 1, 2017, at 12:00 a.m. EST.

Dan O'Toole and Jay Ontario also co-hosted daily 'SportsCenter' highlights from Trafalgar Square, during the 2012 Summer Olympics. They started their weekly podcast using their humor and television personas. Later, that podcast went on to become one of the most popular podcasts in Canada. The duo played host to various guests, along with discussing Dan O'Toole's childhood, TV commercials, vintage television show themes, and current events.

Later in 2017, when Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole returned to TSN after leaving the Fox Sports Live channel, the podcast returned as well, with Coors Light as the sponsor.
