About Dave Dravecky

Dave Dravecky is best known as a Major Leagues baseball player who had to give up on his rapidly growing career due to cancer, not once but twice.

From a small-town baseball aficionado to playing for the big leagues, Dave Dravecky was on an upward trajectory when everything changed. In a game that left the audience shocked, described later as 'the one where the snap could be heard across the stadium,' his humerus bone in his pitching arm snapped mid-throw during his 1989 MLB comeback.

Last check-ups revealed that his cancer had made a comeback in his left arm, and doctors would need to amputate it lest it spread further. He didn't let it deter him, however. With the staunch support of his family members, he worked through his problems until he could build another life for himself.
