About David Frost

Sir David Paradine Frost OBE was born on April 7, 1939, and studied English at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University.
David Frost was a TV host, journalist, TV personality, TV producer, actor, comedian, and writer from the United Kingdom. He was a multi-talented individual who conducted interviews with former US President Richard Nixon.
In 1962, David Frost rose to popularity in the United Kingdom as the host of the popular television show 'That Was The Week That Was'.
David Frost has hosted numerous television series throughout his career. His efforts brought him a great deal of fame and riches during his life. In 1970, he was awarded an OBE and in 1993, he was knighted. In 2000, David Frost received the American Academy of Achievement's Golden Plate Award.
Unfortunately, Frost died of a heart attack on the Cunard cruise ship, MS Queen Elizabeth, on August 31, 2013, at the age of 74, while suffering from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

David Paradine Frost was the son of 'W. J.' Paradine Frost and Mona Paradine Frost and with his two older sisters, he grew up in Gillingham, Kent, and was taught by David Gilmore Harvey in his father's church's Sunday School Bible Class. He started, but didn't finish, his teaching as a Christian local preacher.
While living in Raunds, Northamptonshire, Frost attended Barnsole Road Primary School in Gillingham, Woodhall Spa's St Hugh's School, Gillingham Grammar School, and Wellingborough Grammar School.

Frost went on to host a variety of shows, including  'Not So Much A Program, More A Way Of Life', but it was dropped after a sketch was deemed offensive to Catholics and the British Royal family.
Another high point in his career was 'The Frost Report', which aired from 1966-1967, followed by 'The Frost Program', an interview-based show. His audience included a number of contentious and known personalities.

Charity Work

He was a supporter and ex-Vice President of the Motor Neurone Disease Association charity, as well as a benefactor of the Alzheimer's Research Trust, the Home Farm Trust, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, East Anglia's Children's Hospices, and the Hearing Star Benevolent Fund.  He was also honored for his efforts to the Wellbeing for Women organization.
