In 2013, he invested heavily in Vigzul, a startup providing home security and surveillance, and as of 2023, he serves as the company's chairman. David Allred started it after Mark Neeleman, David's brother, came up with the concept.

David is a man with a diverse set of business skills and ideas, and he has founded several aviation businesses. In June 2018, he revealed plans for a new US airline called Breeze Airways, previously code-named 'Moxie', and raised $100 million for this startup, situated in Salt Lake City.
