In 1961, David Weston graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). David has appeared in various cinema, television, and stage productions.
Since winning the Silver Medal that year, David Weston had done twenty-seven Shakespeare plays and major guest appearances in two 'Doctor Who' serials. He is one of the founders of the National Youth Theatre with Michael Croft. Much of his directorial work has been for that organization, although he has also directed at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and a few other London theaters (Queen's Theatre).
David Weston created and voiced a number of nonfiction audiobooks. 'Shakespeare: His Life And Work' received the Benjamin Franklin Award for the 'best radio nonfiction book' in 2001.

David Weston attended Alleyn's School in Dulwich. This is the same place where Michael Croft, the founder of the National Youth Theatre (NYT), taught. Croft directed a school performance of Shakespeare's 'Henry IV Part 2' in 1956. It had later been resurrected as an NYT play at the Toynbee Hall Theatre the following year and drew national notice. Weston portrayed Falstaff, a figure lauded by The Times for his contribution to the play's humor. He also performed at the Queen's Theatre.

David Weston performed as a stage actor. He portrayed the leading role of Mark Antony in Shakespeare's 'Julius Caesar' at the Queen's Theatre on Shaftesbury Ave. in August 1960. This was only the company of the New York Times' second appearance in London's West End, directed by Croft and granted in modern dress.  The play was deemed a 'youthful triumph' by The Times' theatrical reviewer; Weston's portrayal was stated to have successfully captured an opportunist attitude effectively concealed by a gruff charm.
The Times was more reserved in its praise of Sophocles' Electra and Oedipus Rex in a double bill presented by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in February 1961 at the Vanbrugh Theatre in Bloomsbury. David Weston portrayed Creon in 'Oedipus Rex', and his bold portrayal was hailed as 'highly supportive'.
David Weston's debut television performance as a screen actor was as Romeo in a school production of Shakespeare's 'Romeo And Juliet'. This helped him boost his net worth.
In the 1981 series of 'Doctor Who', Weston played the key part of the time-sensitive Biroc in the story 'Warriors' Gate'.
