Dhani Harrison was born at the Princess Christian Nursing Home in Windsor, Berkshire, in the United Kingdom, on August 1, 1978. He grew up in Henley-on-Thames with his parents in Friar Park, the estate where his father had lived since 1970.
One of Harrison's first memories, dating back to the age of six, was of receiving a drumming lesson from his father's friend and bandmate, uncle Ringo Starr. He remembered being an ardent drummer before the lesson. But when Starr started playing, the deafening volume terrified him to the point where he fled, screaming out of the room.
Dhani Harrison went to Dolphin School, a Montessori method school near Twyford, United Kingdom, and then Badgemore Primary School in Henley-On-Thames. He went on to Shiplake College, located in Henley, where he joined the Combined Cadet Force and developed a passion for rowing, which he pursued into his senior year.
