Clair began her career as a tap dancer at eight years. She was a music enthusiast and made her first stage appearance at the Halo Theatre when she was eight. At age eight, she even appeared in the musical theater production 'Annie'.

Clair first came to the spotlight when she won the competition to sing in the indie movie 'Once I Was A Beehive' theme song. During the movie's premiere, she performed the single live. Following this opportunity, she contributed to another soundtrack named 'For You'.

She sang the national anthem at Arizona Diamondbacks' game. She auditioned thrice for America's Got Talent until she entered the show in 2017. She sang the song 'Arms' by Christiana Perry in the auditions, which earned her a lot of popularity on television. Evie and James Arthur sang Evie's original song "Okay Day" for the show's finale, followed by Chase Goehring and James Arthur singing "Say You Won't Let Go." Instead of Sara and Hero, she was eliminated from the competition since she did not collect enough votes to make it to the top 5. She went on a worldwide tour following the end of the season.

Following AGT, Evie Clair released several original songs, an EP, and two albums. Her popular singles include 'For You' and 'Love You One More Time'. Her first album was released in 2018 and reached the Top 50 of the iTunes chart. It was named 'Okay Day'. Her husband, Clancy Thomas, also features in one of the album's songs, 'Morning Star'.
