Hacken Lee, also known as Lee Hak Kan, is a Hong Kong-based singer, television host, and actor.

Born on December 6, 1967, the actor is the Master of Ceremonies and Association football sportscaster. Being active since the '80s, the singer has given several notable performances.

One of his songs, 'House Of Cards,' was a hit and even gained several awards in Hong Kong award ceremonies. He was also 14 times Outstanding Pop Singer Award winner since 2013. Coming from a middle-class family, he worked hard to achieve an incomparable status in the music industry in Hong Kong and Asia.

Hacken Lee was born in a middle-class family on December 6, 1987. He spent his teenage life living in Art Mansion in Happy Valley. He used to study in Pun U Association Primary School and later moved to Wah Yan College, Hong Kong.

After completing his HKCEE, he participated in the TVB's new talent show in 1985 alongside Alex To, William So, Vivian Chow, and Grasshopper. Unfortunately, he could not make it up to the top 15 finalists.

The same year, he participated in the Second Hong Kong District Singing Contest. He performed Alam Tam's song 'Love In The Fog.' He won the contest and was offered a contract with PolyGram Records.

However, Hacken Lee decided to continue his studies at Wah Yan College and chose to sing part-time. In summer of 1987, due to poor HKALE, he failed to acquire a place in the University. So, he started singing full-time. He launched his EP called 'Hacken Lee EP,' which sold less than 10,000 copies.

His musical popularity for lacking behind. In the late '80s, he was cast in TVB dramas and appeared in 'Teenage No More.' He also sang a theme song for this youth drama.

Hackee Lee is best known as a singer and actor who has given notable performances in his career. He started his career in the late '80s with the TVB drama 'Teenage No More.' He sang the theme song of this youth drama. Later, in 1989, he sang the song 'Unchanged In Lifetime,' which is the theme song of ATV's drama series 'Blue Moon.' He won RHTK's Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Awards' and 'TVB Jade Solid Gold Awards.'

In the '90s, media titled Hacken Lee, Jacky Cheung, and Andy Lau the Three Musketeers in the Music Industry. They were also called tomorrow's highly anticipated superstars. However, that year, the contract dispute between Hacken and the company faltered his career.

In 1992, Hacken Lee rose to prominence after releasing the song 'Red Sun.' He wrote the Chinese lyrics of this song, making him famous. Hacken joined the Star Record Company in 1993 and launched the song 'Look Back.' The song again boosted his singing career and won 'TVB Jade Solid Gold's Golden Awards. He was also nominated for the 'Most Popular Singer Award.'

Hacken Lee was also crowned 'Zero Defects Vocals' title in 1994. After the miraculous success of Lee's first solo concert, Hacken decided to hold another concert at Hong Kong Coliseum. The concert was named 'Dragon '95 Hacken's Contact of Hear Concert' and was held for ten days. Unfortunately, the concert did not go as expected. He witnessed a tremendous decline in his singing career. He also faced a contractual dispute with his record company.

Hacken Lee moved to another company in 1996. He issued another album called 'When I Found You,' with the company. With this album, the sales and popularity improved slightly. However, since the release of another album 'By Hacken Side,' he experienced several personnel changes and contractual disputes. As a result, his career was held up.

He faced a lot of difficulties until 1999. Hacken Lee signed with Universal Music and issued his album A Year Or So. He also has a musical performance in December with the Hong Kong repertory titled 'Adventure.' He also released songs like 'Feet Of Fortune,' 'The Grasp Of Love,' and 'I Won't Sing,'

In Late 2001, Hacken Lee collaborated with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, named 'Hong Kong Philharmonic & Hacken Live', in four concerts and two additional concerts. The concert was a hit. The company even recorded and released CD and VCD of the series and also won 'Ten Best Selling Album Awards' at IFPI. In July, he released the album 'Flying Flower.'

Hacken Lee again held his solo concert in 2022, 'Hacken Lee Live in Concert 2002.' He was again praised and received well by IFPI. He also sang for TVB's World Cup Program theme song 'Victory.' In 2003, 2004, and 2009, Hacken Lee associated with Alam Tam in a series of concert tours worldwide. It includes multiple shows in Hong Kong and Las Vegas. The tour was called 'Alan & Hacken.'

In 2004, Hacken Lee also partnered with Joey Yung in a concert called 'Urgency Cannot Afford Delay.' He suffers from vocal strains and muscle sprains due to continuous performance in his concert. However, he released this song. Alam Tam even called him New 4 Heavenly King. The same year, he received several awards ranging from The best Pop Male Artist Award to Best Sales Local Singer.

His fourth Mandarin album 'Ask About Love,' enabled him to promote activities in Mainland China. By late 2005, he became the first Chinese artist that releases a 'DualDisc.' For this album, Universal Music over a million dollars and also invited four Chinese musicians. They moved to the music hall for recording.

For a month in 2006, Hacken Lee had multiple sell-out concerts at 'Hong Kong Collesium.' He also hosted the TVB World Cup Program the same year. He became the football sportscaster for the third time and even wrote and sang the song called 'I'm Number 10.' He traveled to Seoul in the middle of the year to record his album 'Hacken Lee Seoul Concert Hall II.'

In 2007, Hacken Lee released his selection album 'Hacken Lee No. 1 Hits.' The album comprised four CDs of his new songs and classic hit. He also participated in the concert held by Hong Kong Government. At the concert's end, he sang his hit songs like 'Legend of the Dragons' and 'Red Sun.' His performance was included in the Guinness World Record.' He also released his environmental theme song 'Whispering Whose.' He announced his first son 'Ryan Lee' birth during his tremendous success.

In 2008, Lee was featured in the new song 'Every Day is a Valentine's Day. After this, he began preparing for the canton album, which took nine months to produce. He also released several new songs like 'Sinner,' 'Deja Vu,' 'Milky Way,' and 'The Sky Lanterns.'

Hacken Lee also gained prominence in 2012 from his album 'Amongst The Forest' and songs like 'What's The Thing Alive For,' 'Forward,' House of Cards,' and 'No Friend.' He also launched a HIFI album titled 'Remakes By Hacken.' In 2014, Hacken Lee became the first Masked Singer to win the preliminaries of 'King Of Mask Singer' and reveal his identity. In 2015, he joined the show 'I Am A Singer' as a host and competed with his performance of Alan Tam's song 'Love In The Fog,' a song that brought him to the music industry 30 years ago.
