Roswell is located in Georgia in New Mexico on the northern banks of Chattahoochee River, earlier known as the Enchanted Land of Cherokee Indians.

Roswell is most famously known for an alleged history of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) incident that occurred in Lincoln County near Roswell in 1947 and was believed to be a flying saucer by some residents who saw it crash land. The first telephone service and traffic signal came to Roswell's between 1901 and 1959. Interestingly, all the phone numbers were one digit, and the traffic signal was installed for 435.4 dollars.
