He grew up with four siblings: Alex, Livingston, Hugh, and Kate, all of whom pursued musical careers. Taylor started his schooling at five years old at Milton Academy, a prestigious boarding school in Massachusetts. Despite his strong academic abilities, he found the high-pressure environment challenging and eventually moved back to North Carolina, completing his semester at Chapel Hill High School.
