Born in England and brought up in Canada, May made his acting debut in 1997 as a miner in the renowned Oscar Wilde biopic 'Wilde'. The actor appeared in the critically acclaimed World War II mini-series 'Band Of Brothers' as Second Lt. Edward Shames.

Joseph May is also known on British television for his role as Paul in the 12th season of 'Casualty'. The actor is recognized for his role as Andy Button in the television show 'Episodes'.
