Souza was born on December 11, 1985, in Mexico, to a Chilean father and a Mexican mother, Mónica. Her siblings are Monica Souza, her sister, and Jeronimo Souza, her brother.

Souza began her acting in school at Televisa's Centro de Educación Artística in Mexico City. She also studied acting in France and was a member of a professional theater company that toured the country.

Souza auditioned for and was accepted for the French reality TV show 'Star Academy' while living in France, but she declined the offer after obtaining an invitation to study at England's Central School of Speech & Drama.

She earned a Bachelor's degree in Acting from the school in 2008. She got a CCP prize near the end of her London studies, which is traditionally given to the most promising actress in London. After being chosen to attend an intensive acting course in Moscow with Anatoly Smilianski, she returned to Mexico City and began acting in television and film at the age of 22.

Souza first appeared on television in 2009 in the Mexican opera 'Verano De Amor'. She then went on to star in the Mexican sitcoms 'Los Héroes Del Norte' and 'La Clínica'. 'From Prada To Nada' was one of her film roles, and she was also in two Mexican movie office smashes in 2013, 'Nosotros Los Nobles' and 'Instructions Not Included'.
