This condition caused his bones to be brittle. Sadly most of his bones were broken in the process of delivery. He was admitted to Chicago Children's Hospital and placed in intensive care. Physicians advised his parents that he may die shortly. But, because of their love and care, he survived a difficult childhood.

At the young age of 17, Stephenson started giving motivational lectures. In 1998, Stephenson encountered his motivational speaker inspiration, Tony Robbins. It was only with the support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation that this happened. Robbins agreed to be his mentor and persuaded him to make lifestyle changes to enhance his wellness. Sean Stephenson interned for President Bill Clinton. He was employed as an intern for Illinois Congressman Bill Lipinski. All while studying at DePaul University. Stephenson got his degree in political science from DePaul University in 2001. This was when he published his first book, 'How You(th) Can Succeed!: Transforming Dreams into Reality for Young Adults.'

By now, he was a well-established motivational speaker. The audience started contacting him with their personal issues for advice. He returned to school to become a trained therapist since he felt inadequate to assist them. He went to Bennett university. Followed by going to Kona University, now known as American Pacific University. He also got a degree of doctor of clinical hypnotherapy from the same university in 2004. He worked from Illinois. All this while he continued to work as a motivational speaker. He was slowly turning into a social media talent as well. People liked to view his speeches online.
