Austyn Gillette was born on June 21, 1992, in the city of Helsinki, Finland.
As a young boy, Austyn and his family migrated to the U.S, where they settled down in Whitter, a city located almost 12 mi (19.31 km) southeast of Los Angeles.
Initially, he used to play ice hockey with his younger brother Chad. However, Austyn Gillette was introduced to the exciting world of skateboarding when his mother gifted him a Blind James Craig board. With his brother for company, Austyn gradually began learning the tricks of the trade by following videos and magazines about the sport.
At the early age of 10. Austyn Gillette had perfected most of the signature moves and began seeking sponsorships to raise his game to the next level. Eventually, he was noticed by Tony Hawk, an established name in the skateboard business, after he was placed first at a local tournament in San Diego.
Over the years that followed, Austyn Gillette began receiving countless sponsorship deals which prompted the talented star to turn professional in the burgeoning world of skateboarding. Austyn Gillette eventually turned pro in 2011, appearing for Joe Castrucci, the creator of the popular skateboard brand Habitat.
His popularity spread like wildfire, with the star being featured in popular publications like Sidewalk Magazine, Huck magazine, and Thrasher magazine. The year 2012 also marked the release of his own pro shoe line for Habitat.
The professional skateboarder was recently in the news for his association with Globe Skateboarding, apart from his apparel design venture for his clothing brand Former.
The Helsinki-born skateboarder is estimated to be worth approximately $1.5 million.
Austyn has secured lucrative sponsorship deals from the world of professional skateboarding which is a major source of his income. However, his exact annual earnings are currently unknown.
