He rose to prominence after releasing 'The Truth', his debut studio album, with rapper Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella Records in February 2000. Apart from rapping, the 47-year-old has also dabbled in acting.

His first major part was in the film 'State Property', and he also appeared in the 2002 picture 'Paper Soldiers' alongside Kevin Hart. Sigel also starred in 'Rhyme And Punishment'. The film features hip-hop artists who have done time in prison and was released in 2011.
