In his senior year, Bob Myers went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to speak with the coach of the crew team. However, he met UCLA's assistant basketball coach, Steve Lavin. He encouraged Myers to try out for the team.

Tellem and Associates merged with SFX Sports in 2000. Myers became the company's vice president and worked as an agent for 14 years for SFX Sports.
