Caskey, whose real name is Brandon Caskey, was born on August 28, 1992, in Orlando, Florida, US. The rapper did his schooling at Winter Springs High School. As a child, Caskey relished listening to heavy metal since he was fond of playing different instruments. Also, he would write music in different genres. However, when he was still in elementary school, he came across raps like 'Three 6 Mafia' and 'N.W.A.', which were introduced to him by his older sister.
Thereafter, Brandon Caskey began listening to rappers Eminem, Nas, and Dead Prez. When he was still studying at Winter Springs High School, Caskey wrote raps. When the rapper was only 16, his father passed away. As a tribute to him, Caskey wrote the songs ‘Been Solid’ and ‘Letter To My Father’ featured on the mixtape ‘No Complaints’.
Currently, the rapper is single and he hasn’t disclosed anything about his relationship.
When Caskey was in his sophomore year at Winter Springs High School, he began penning raps. When he was quite young, Brandon Caskey released the mixtapes ‘The Intangibles’ and ‘Blowin’ Out My Mind’ Vol 1. The rapper collaborated with the producers The Avengerz, who were present in Orlando itself, to record the third one, ‘Homegrown’ Vol. 1. It was The Avengerz who took care of a major chunk of the music production of the mixtape which eventually Caskey released for download in April 2011.
The following year, the rapper launched a fourth mixtape titled ‘No Complaints’, the production work for which was mostly done by The Avengerz again. Although one of his initial mixtapes, the launch of ‘No Complaints’ proved to be a watershed moment in his career of Caskey, on hearing it, DJ Nasty, producer of Cash Money Records, recommended it to Birdman, the co-founder of the company. The mixtape left Birdman extremely impressed, who considered Caskey a star. Thus, followed a recording contract with Cash Money Records and the announcement about the release of Caskey’s debut album in 2013.
Besides being offered the recording contract, the musician also entered into a marketing and publishing deal with Money Mack Music. He also signed a merchandising deal with Cash Money Marketing LLC. In 2012, the rapper launched his first single ‘Keep It On The Low’ which also had Kyle Denmead. Caskey also did a solo track for the mixtape ‘Rich Gang: All Stars’ by YMCMB in 2013. The same year, Caskey’s ‘No Complaints’ was released for the second time by Cash Money.
That year itself, the singer-cum-songwriter was also featured on the song ‘Sunshine’ of the album Rich Gang, featuring Birdman, Flo Rida, and Limp Bizkit. Also, the rapper made an announcement about his mixtape ‘The Transient Classics’ which was released in August the same year, when he turned 21. Some of his later releases are the music video for ‘Show Me Some’, produced by The Avengerz, The Colleagues, and Myles William. Also, the video had cameos from Riitz, Riff Raff, and Trae The Truth. In 2015, he came out with his debut studio album ‘The Black Sheep'. Also, the rapper launched the mixtape ‘The Lost Files’.
His other projects include the 2021 studio album ‘Fine Art’ released by Black Sheep Records and ‘Nobody’ released under the same label, released in 2021. Caskey also has to his credit the collaborative album ‘Yelawolf Blacksheep’, released in 2021, and the compilation album ‘Rich Gang’. The musician is also known for other mixtapes like ‘Back Sheep’, ‘Wish You Were Here’, ‘Generation, ‘Viral’, ‘Clockwork’, and ‘I Changed’.
