Butch is one of the successful footballers from Oklahoma. Davis started his career by playing high school football, where he was popular for being an all-state fullback as well as a defensive end.
Butch Davis went on to play college football at the University of Arkansas for a year before a knee injury pushed him to retire. Following graduation, Butch began his coaching career, working as a coach for schools such as Will Rogers, Charles Page, Pawhuska, and Fayetteville before becoming the University of Miami's defensive line coach.
