This sitcom surpassed Fernando Gaitán's worldwide triumph with 'Yo Soy Betty La Fea', the Colombian version of 'Ugly Betty' in terms of the most impressive debut, with half the Colombian population tuning in at the premier in 2010.
Carolina is the fourth Colombian actress to penetrate the American cinema market, along with Sofía Vergara, Paola Turbay, and Catalina Sandino.
She has won two beauty pageants, Miss Colombia in 1993, and was the 1st runner-up at Miss Universe in 1994.
