Chris Houghton is an American animator, storyboard artist, voice actor, writer, and creator.
With his brother Shane, Chris Houghton created the famous animated TV series, 'Big City Greens'. He attended St. Johns public high school and College for Creative Studies in Detroit.
He was born and brought up in a small farm town in Michigan named St. Johns with his brothers. From childhood, Chris loved and was involved in acting, theater, animation, art, and music. With his brother, Shane Houghton, Chris created the animation 'Big City Greens' (2018), consisting of three seasons and almost 75 episodes which were well-received by the audience positively. The plot of this series is about Bill Green and his two children shifting to his mother's farm when things went astray. Chris also gave voice to Bill Green's 10-year-old son, Cricket Green.
Chris is best known for creating the animated TV series 'Big City Greens' with his brother Shane Houghton and voicing in the same for the character Cricket Green. The 'Big City Greens' series was nominated for the Annie Awards twice under voice acting and storyboarding and for Daytime Emmy Award for individual achievement in animation.
In 2013, Chris Houghton, with the other cast crew of 'Gravity Falls', was animated by the second annual PAAFTJ Television Awards under Best Artistic/Visual Achievement in an Animated Series. While at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Chris won the 2009 Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship from the National Cartoonist Society Foundation (NCSF).
Chris Houghton's interests are in art and music. He called himself a "theater kid" and plays several musical instruments.
