She was born on May 27, 1943, in Vauxhall, Liverpool, England. She was recognized for being a British singer, female comedy star, television presenter, and actress.
Cilla Black spent her childhood in the Scotland Road area of Vauxhall in Liverpool. She had set her mind on becoming an entertainer and thus, joined the Cavern Club, as a cloakroom attendant. In the same club, she got noticed by the Beatles and there was no looking back for her! 'Mersey Beat,' a local music newspaper had featured Priscilla in an article and misprinted her name as ‘Cilla Black’. Thereafter she was never known by another name.
Cilla Black's career started as a pop singer in 1963 when her singles ‘Anyone Who Had A Heart’ and ‘You’re My World’ became number-one singles and sold more than 800,000 copies in the UK alone. She also started her presenting career in 1984 when she started hosting shows like ‘Blind Date’ and ‘Surprise Surprise.’
In her personal life, Cilla Black married Bobby Willis in 1969 and had three sons with him. In 2015, Cilla Black suffered a brain hemorrhage and passed away. The news shocked her fans and wishes poured over from all over the world.
At the time of Cilla Black’s death, her net worth was more than $20 million. After her death, her estate was divided between her sons. Apart from her villa in Spain, where she died, she had a number of luxury properties around the world. Her apartment in Central London sold for $5 million.

Her entertainment career started when Cilla Black hosted her own BBC show titled, 'Cilla' in 1968-1976. At the same time, she started presenting in 1984 when she hosted the shows 'Surprise Surprise,' ‘Blind Date,' and 'The Moment Of Truth.'
After Cilla Black’s death, her family members set up an online donation fund by the name In Memory of Cilla Black OBE to help sick children. This fund was launched by her three sons and they urged people to donate money to two causes that were close to Cilla Black’s heart - Ormond Street Hospital in London and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
Cilla Black was a prominent English club singer and pop singer. In 1997, she was appointed OBE, for her contribution to the entertainment industry. In 2014, she received the first Royal Television Society Legends Awards for completing 50 years in the industry. She also got the British Academy Television Awards Special Award.
In 2013, Cilla Black completed 50 years in the industry and ITV honored her with an entertainment special ‘The One And Only Cilla Black.'
After her death in 2015, her sons unveiled a statue of Cilla Black outside the Cavern Club, where she first started her career, to mark its 60th anniversary.
Cilla Black had been politically active and supported the Conservative Party. In 1992, she attended a rally in support of the Conservative Party. In 2014, she also was one of the public figures that wrote a letter in the hope that Scotland would remain a part of the United Kingdom.
