Claudia Lynn Cowan was born on July 31, 1963, to publicist, Warren Cowan, and actress, Barbara Rush, in the United States of America. Her parents later divorced and her father remarried Barbara Crane, making Claudia Cowan the step-sister of Jonathon Gilbert, Sara Gilbert and Melissa Gilbert, Barbara Crane's biological and adopted children from her previous marriages. After graduating from college, Claudia Cowan began working at KTTV-TV in Los Angeles, which services as FOX networks' news platform for the West Coast. She initially worked as a messenger, but worked hard and made a name for herself, bagging the role of on-air messenger. She then moved to Monterey, California to work at KMST-TV as a desk assistant. Here, she slowly worked her way up to the role of anchoring the noon news, before becoming co-anchor for the weekend news segments. Over time, she also worked in editing and producing for the weekend news.
Claudia Cowan then left KMST-TV to work at KOVR-TV13 (CBS) in Sacramento, California, for seven years, where she covered high-profile segments, such as breaking news and state politics, as well as being a main anchor for the midday and morning news. She also worked with KRON-4 of NBC in San Francisco, as the news reporter for the evening news, before accepting a job with FOX News in 1998, with whom she has worked ever since. She serves as their correspondent for the Bay Area, and is currently one of the most well-known anchors to appear on the network.
