Here, she slowly worked her way up to the role of anchoring the noon news, before becoming co-anchor for the weekend news segments. Over time, she also worked in editing and producing for the weekend news.
Claudia Cowan then left KMST-TV to work at KOVR-TV13 (CBS) in Sacramento, California, for seven years, where she covered high-profile segments, such as breaking news and state politics, as well as being a main anchor for the midday and morning news. She also worked with KRON-4 of NBC in San Francisco, as the news reporter for the evening news, before accepting a job with FOX News in 1998, with whom she has worked ever since. She serves as their correspondent for the Bay Area, and is currently one of the most well-known anchors to appear on the network.
