She grew up in Elling, a small village located in Elling Parish outside Frederikshavn. She was born to Bent Nielsen and Laila Inge-lise Matzigkeit. Connie's father worked as a bus driver while her mother was a clerk, but she also acted once in a while and was also a musical reviewer. She entered the world of acting by holding the hands of her mother, acting in the local revue, and playing a variety of roles.

When she turned 18, she was determined that she would become an actress, and to fulfill her dreams, she moved to Paris, France, where she worked on a few small modeling and acting assignments. After gaining some experience working in films, she decided to move to Italy, where she would get the opportunity to go to an acting school and work simultaneously.
