Cortez Kennedy got his validation from Wilson, Arkansas by helping his Rivercrest team to the 3-A State Championship in 1985.
Cortez Kennedy had been shifted to the University of Miami from North Mississippi Junior College in 1988. There, he was recognized as the best defensive lineman by coaches in the last 10 years of the league.
In 1989, Cortez became the most dominant senior defensive tackle under the nation's top defensive line unit. In the Sugar Bowl UM led to an 11-1 season, winning against Alabama with the help of Cortez's tenacious defense. UM also became the National Champion in College Football in the same year. Being in the second-team AP All-American honors, Seattle Seahawks drafted him in the 1990 draft as the 3rd player taken in the 1st round. In 1991, he was quite progressive as the Pro Bowl and the Seahawks put him as a nose tackle or defensive tackle. Cortez declared himself retired after 11 seasons in the NFL in 2000. In the 1992 NFL season although he was playing on a 2-14 team, he became the defensive Player Of The Year. He went for the eight Pro Bowls, selected All-Pro three times, and Seahawks' Ring of Honor.
Cortez Kennedy is known for being an American NFL football player and winning the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is pretty well known for playing 11 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and he also appeared in Pro Bowl eight times. Kennedy maintained a net worth of $35 million when he passed away.
Cortez Kennedy used to play defense. He has the record of doing 668 tackles, 58 sacks, and three interceptions in a total of 167 games, which made him 3x First-team All-Pro and 2x Second-team All-Pro. Kennedy received a salary between $ 2 - 5 million per annum.

Cortez Kennedy is from Osceola, Arkansas. He was born on August 23, 1968, and he passed away on May 23, 2017, in Orlando, Florida at the age of 48. If alive, Kennedy would be 52 years old in 2022.
Cortez Kennedy went to Rivercrest High School in Wilson. Later he went to Northwest Mississippi Community College. In his college years, he was given a college football scholarship to the University of Miami. There he became an All-American football player in 1989 and had been inducted into the Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 on the behalf of Miami University.
Cortez Kennedy and Nicole Sanders were married and they have a daughter together, Courtney. In 1996, they got separated. Any further information about his personal life has not been mentioned by media pages. After his retirement for her daughter, Courtney's academic purposes Kennedy relocated to Arkansas and Orlando, Florida.
In the 1990 draft, Cortez Kennedy was taken by the Seahawks at the third overall selection and it was the last moment, even two days before the rookie season he was left unsigned. In 1991 Cortez Kennedy managed to get into Pro Bowl and in 1992, he made 14 quarterback sacks.
Although the Seahawks have a record of 2–14, Associated Press decided to nominate Kennedy as the NFL Defensive Football Player Of The Year. A tribute to Jerome Brown, a close friend, he got a jersey with the number 99. He played his last matches in the 2000 season. He was refrained in the 2001 season and in August 2002 he decided to retire. Although he got several offers by other teams but he made his mind about sticking to the Seattle Seahawks team in those last days of his career. In the NFL, he will remain one of the best defensive tacklers. He got the national championship in 1987 and 1989. At the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he was a 2008 semi-finalist, a 2009 and 2011 finalist. Later, he was promoted to a member of the 2012 induction class and the second Hall of Famer. Retired football player, Kennedy started working with the New Orleans Saints as an advisor, and his colleague, the general manager, Mickey Loomis was an ex-employee for the Seattle Seahawks.
