Curtis Sliwa was reportedly in a relationship with Melinda Katz, the Queens County District Attorney. They never got married but conceived two children through in vitro fertilization over the prior five years. They ended their relationship in 2014.
Four years after the fiasco, Curtis Sliwa married Nancy Regula at the famous Howe Caverns in 2018.

'Magnificent 13' was a civil group created by Curtis Sliwa in May 1977 as a group for the civilians that would help and protect them from violence and crimes in the New York City Subway, using combat as a measure. This was when New York City was under a crime wave.
It was this Magnificent 13 that was later changed and renamed The Guardian Angels in 1979. Sliwa still remains the CEO of Guardian Angels. So, Mayor Ed Koch, a critic of Sliwa and the organization, launched an investigation into the Guardian Angels. Sliwa, however, admitted in 1992 to having faked heroic deeds and rescues to gain popularity.
Curtis Sliwa had also been an active radio broadcaster for more than three decades. He was mainly with WABC-AM after kick-starting his radio talk show career in 1990. He was widely known for his weekday radio program and became a radio personality.
Curtis Sliwa is also involved in politics as he was able to launch a successful program of a hostile takeover of the Reform Party of New York State. However, the party lost its ballot access in the November 2018 elections.
