Daisy Fuentes was born to Amado Fuentes and Maria Fuentes on November 17, 1966, in Havana, Cuba. Her father worked as a real estate dealer from Cuba, and her mother is a painter from Spain. Rosana Fuentes Brijbag, her younger sister, was her companion as she grew up.

Various firms asked Fuentes to promote them as a brand ambassador due to her growing fame. Revlon, Pantene, American Express, Milles Lite, and M&M's were just a few brands she represented. She was Revlon's first Latina brand ambassador.
She presented 'House Of Style', an MTV show about America's obsession with the supermodel mania, from 1997-2002. She also appeared in the TV show 'I Love The '80s' in 2002 and the first episode of 'The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn' in 2003. She hosted TV shows 'CMT: The Greatest - 20 Sexiest Men' in 2004 and 'CMT: The Greatest - 20 Sexiest Men' in (2006).
