Darren Everett Criss is an American singer-songwriter and actor. 

Darren Criss rose to prominence as a cast member of the television series 'Glee (2010–2015)' as Blaine Andreson. He's also a founding member and co-owner of StarKid Productions, a Chicago-based musical theater company.

He gained popularity for the lead role of Harry Potter and for writing most of the music and lyrics for StarKid's musical production of 'A Very Potter Musical'. Darren Everett has also appeared on Broadway as a replacement for 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' and 'How to Succeed in Business Without Trying'. Criss co-founded Elsie Fest in 2015, which bills itself as "New York City's first outdoor music festival celebrating stage and screen tunes."

Criss made his film debut in the comedy 'Girl Most Likely' on September 7, 2012. Born in San Francisco, California, Criss spent his early life in San Francisco, apart from 1988 to 1992, when the family lived in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Darren Criss was educated in Roman Catholic schools. He finished elementary school at Stuart Hall for Boys and graduated from Saint Ignatius College Preparatory San Francisco in 2005. Criss earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from the University of Michigan in 2009, with minors in Musicology and Italian.

Criss' passion for music began at a young age; at the age of five, he began taking violin lessons and spent the following 15 years studying classical music.
