Mike comes from a family of doctors, and he earned his Bachelor's degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology). He has assisted many patients globally using his presence on social media networks.

Mike's father was Ukrainian and an alumnus of Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, who worked as a physician. Mike's mother was a math lecturer. Mike has an older sister named Dasha. He started his journey for an advanced, seven-year joint course for a Bachelor's degree in life sciences and a doctorate (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) after the conclusion of his undergraduate course. While Mike was attending the New York Institute of Technology, he began posting content about his personal life on Instagram and YouTube. He began his fellowship in the Family Medicine Initiative at the Atlantic Health System Overlook Medical Center in 2014, which he finished in 2017. Mike's mother passed away after suffering from cancer after his first year at the institution, so he returned to live with his father.

Varshavski presented a TEDx Talk on 'The Epidemic Of The 'I Know It All' Expert', which was conducted and held at the TEDxMonteCarlo session in 2017, a year since Mike had started his YouTube channel. The footage of that lecture has approximately 2 million views as of 2022. Following his internship, he decided to join Chatham Family Medicine, which is the Atlantic Health System, a healthcare network in Chatham, New Jersey, in 2018. Varshavski rearranged his YouTube videos over the COVID-19 outbreak to address everyone's inquiries regarding the epidemic. Most of Judy Mikovits' misleading statements concerning COVID-19 in the conspiracy movie 'Plandemic' were exposed by Varshavski.
Varshavski spoke with Anthony Fauci, who is the head of NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases), regarding the outbreak around March 2020. Varshavski flew to Miami on his 31st birthday celebration on November 12, 2020 to join a beachside event joined by a lot of young individuals who were spotted without masks amidst the COVID-19 epidemic. Videos from the incident were shared on Instagram and quickly went public. Varshavski made an apology for his behavior in a YouTube clip on November 18. Healthcare experts lambasted him for attending the event.
Varshavski debuted his professional boxing career opposite rival YouTuber iDubbbz in May 2022 as the main feature of the Creator Clash fighting tournament. He defeated iDubbbz by a majority verdict.
Varshavski founded the Limitless Tomorrow Foundation in 2015 to grant scholarships to youngsters. In January 2016, the matchmaking platform, Coffee Meets Bagel, and Varshavski cooperated on a $10 auction for a chance to meet with him, raising $91,000 for his organization. Varshavski raised awareness for the philanthropic group Save A Child's Heart in July 2019 by sharing a picture with the group's 5,000th recipient during his visit to Israel. Varshavski contributed $50,000 and donated N95 masks in March 2020 in response to healthcare staffing limitations caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Upon the Russian takeover of Ukraine in March 2022, Varshavski put up a campaign contribution to GlobalGiving to help the suffering and affected Ukrainian population. Varshavski contributed $100,111 to the charitable organization, Feeding America, through a campaign hosted by the well-known YouTube star and influencer, Ryan Trahan, in June 2022.
In 2018 and 2019, Doctor Mike was nominated for a Shorty Award for 'Health and Wellness' and 'Breakout YouTuber of the Year', respectively. In 2020, Doctor Mike won the Webby Award for 'Education & Discovery'. That same year, Mike also received the Webby Award for 'Health & Fitness'. In 2021, Mike was awarded the Streamy Award for 'Health and Wellness'. The following year, Doctor Mike also won the Webby Award for 'Best Influencer (People's Choice)'.
