He schooled at Thomas Junior High School and Simon Gratz High School. Eddie Fisher came from a humble background, as his parents shuttled between jobs to feed the family. He started as a local star in his neighborhood in Philadelphia at an early age with other children before becoming famous.

As a kid, Eddie Fisher performed on a couple of radio shows such as Magic Lady, Junior Music Hall, and Teen Time.
