Eddy Cue was born in 1965 in Miami, Florida. His father was a doctor and his mother was a homemaker. He is of mixed descent since his mother is Cuban and his father is Spanish. We do not know a lot about his parents or childhood apart from the fact that he lived in Miami throughout his formative years. Cue attended Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, California, where he was on the track team. He graduated from high school in 1983 and then went on to study computer science at Duke University. He graduated from Duke in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in computer science and economics. This has enabled him to be one of the most valuable team members at Apple. He is also very interested in the Duke University basketball team. He even partnered with the Duke University basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski, and funded an initiative known as PowerForward. He is also very supportive of more people pursuing computer science at Duke University and has been a part of some initiatives to enable more women in taking up the course with the help of scholarships.
Eddy Cue is married to Paula Cue. His love for Duke University is even more justified when we consider that he met his wife there. The couple has two sons together, named Spencer and Adam Cue. Interestingly, both of Eddy Cue's sons went to Duke University and pursued computer science for their higher education!
Eddy Cue began his career at Apple in 1989 as an intern working on the company's QuickTime software. He then joined the Macintosh software group as an engineer. In 1996, he became the head of Apple's online services division, which included the iTunes Store and the App Store. In 2010, he was promoted to vice president of Internet Software and Services. In this role, he is responsible for all online services offered by Apple, including iCloud, Apple Music, and iTunes.
Eddy Cue has been instrumental in the success of many of Apple's online services. He was the driving force behind the launch of the iTunes Store in 2003. The store was a huge success, and it quickly became the world's largest music store. He also played a key role in the launch of the App Store in 2008. The App Store has been incredibly successful, and it is now the world's largest app store with over two million apps available.

The Apple store was all set to fail before Eddy Cue stepped in and took charge of it and other creativity apps on Apple. Eddy Cue is very passionate about some things in life and he makes sure to support all causes that are close to him. One such thing is Duke Technology. Eddy Cue strongly believes in the potential that software engineering and computer science hold and hence, he is a part of an initiative through which more women can get scholarships and study these subjects at the prestigious Duke University. He has also funded an initiative known as PowerForward with the Duke University basketball coach, which focuses on subscription-based and B2B models.
Eddy Cue was honored with the Spirit of Life award by the City of Hope organization in 2014!
Apart from computer science, Eddy Cue is also a huge fan of basketball. He is a fan of Duke Basketball as well as of the Golden State Warriors.
