Eric Gordon is a shooting guard for the Houston Rockets.

Born on December 25, 1988, Eric Gordon grew up playing basketball in Indianapolis. He grew up in a basketball-playing family, with his two brothers and his father having a background in basketball. During his middle school and high school days, he collected many awards and was even named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year while making the Big Ten first team.
Eric Gordon joined the NBA in 2008 and immediately made a name for himself as a shooting guard for the LA Clippers. He was named the Rookie of the Month once in his first season against the likes of Derrick Rose and DeMar Derozan. Many analysts thought that he would be the Rookie of the Year, but injuries prevented him from being in the running at the end of the season. He played a total of 24 games that season. Despite this, he still finished as the second scorer on the team, averaging 22 points per game.
The guard was later traded to the Pelicans and later joined the Rockets, where he is now as of 2022. At the Rockets, he had a prolific partnership with James Harden before the latter moved to the Brooklyn Nets. He scored a career-high of 50 points in 2017 against the Utah Jazz. He also broke the franchise record of being named Sixth Man of the Year while playing for the Houston Rockets.

The basketball player ultimately decided to go to Indiana University Bloomington and study sports management. As of 2022, he is still their all-time leading scorer.
In 2008, Eric Gordon announced that he was leaving college to enter the NBA Draft. There was so much hype around his announcement, and even the ESPN channel labeled him as one of the best draft picks to watch. The basketball player was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers as the seventh pick. He quickly made a name for himself by performing well in the Summer League. In the NBA that first season he broke the NBA record of the most points scored by a rookie with 41 points. The record, however, has been since broken by Blake Griffin. The basketball player was also named Rookie of the Month in January.

His most impressive award is the Indiana Mr. Basketball, given to the best player in the state of Indiana at the time. He won this award in 2007, and from then, he has gone on to win other awards such as Rookie of the Month while making the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2007.
The shooting guard was also named the Gatorade National Male Athlete of the Year and made the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2008. That same year he was also named to the first team of the Big Ten Conference. Eric Gordon also has a gold medal with the USA for winning the FIBA World Championship in 2010.
2017 was probably the player's best year as he won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year. He also won the Three-Point Contest at the All-Star weekend, beating Kyrie Irving. He also had one of his best games, scoring 31 points against the Washington Wizards that season.
