From a young age, Eric started playing drums, and his style was influenced by bands like Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Queen, and Black Sabbath, and drummers such as Roger Taylor, John Bonham Cozy Powell, and Bill Ward. He attended Euclid High School in Euclid, Ohio.
Before becoming an experienced drummer, Singer worked at King Musical Instruments. He got his first professional drumming position in the Cleveland band Beau-Coup. In 1984, Lita Ford hired him to be their drummer for their tour. In 1985, Black Sabbath recruited him, and he played and toured with the band to back their album, 'Seventh Star'. Career And Professional Highlights

Best Known For…

Following Eric Carr's death, Eric Singer became the drummer for the band Kiss in December 1991. Two years earlier, Singer did a club tour with Paul Stanley and Bob Kulick, and eventually, Kiss hired him. He had his first debut with the band on their album 'Revenge', where, initially, he was assigned to play for some tracks while Eric Carr recovered from heart cancer. Eric played for Kiss’ 17th studio album, 'Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions' and remained as the drummer and went on a tour with Kiss until 1996. Later, he was replaced when the original guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss reunited with Kiss for the Alive/Worldwide Tour. After getting replaced by Peter Criss as the drummer for Kiss, Eric performed and toured with Brian May, the lead guitarist of the band Queen.
After five years of staying low-key, Kiss invited Eric Singer to rejoin the band in 2001, following Criss’ exit shortly before the Kiss Farewell Tour in Japan and Australia. During this tour, Singer performed while wearing a Catman costume and makeup for the first time. This caused some controversy as Peter Criss had used the same persona before. In late 2002, Peter Criss replaced Singer again, but Singer rejoined the band in early 2004, following Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley's decision to end Peter Criss' contract. Since then, Singer became the permanent drummer for Kiss and plays for them even today. The rock band Kiss received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7080 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood, California.
In 2009, Singer and Tommy Thayer, the lead guitarist, sang vocals and played in the Kiss album, 'Sonic Boom', which became the first studio album to show the new line-up. From the album 'Sonic Boom', Eric started singing vocals as well. The album's track 'All For The Glory' was co-written by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, whereas Eric Singer sang the vocals for it. In October 2012, Kiss launched their 20th studio album 'Monster', with a track titled 'All For The Love Of Rock & Roll' written by Paul Stanley and sung by Eric.
When Kiss was not touring, Singer collaborated and toured with Alice Cooper. Eric became a member of the band Alice Cooper following the release of the album 'Brutal Planet' in 2000. Before becoming a member of The Alice Cooper Band, Singer had already toured with Alice Cooper for the album 'Trash'. Singer worked on three Alice Cooper albums- 'Brutal Planet', ‘Along Came A Spider', and ‘The Eyes Of Alice Cooper'. In 2008, Eric Singer left the band following a suggestion from Alice Cooper that he should concentrate on his increasing obligations with Kiss and the Eric Singer Project (ESP).
Occasionally, he would play and record for ESP, featuring former Kiss bandmate Bruce Kulick and many more. ESP has released three albums; 'Lost And Spaced' (1998), which solely has covers of classic rock songs; 'ESP' (1999), and the live album 'ESP Live In Japan' (2006). They have also released a DVD titled 'ESP Live At the Marquee'.
Singer is a drummer for Paul Stanley's side project called Soul Station, which showcases the best Motown and soul hits. Singer is perhaps best known for being the drummer for the rock band Kiss.
