Gabriel is a Panamanian professional football player who plays for the Panama national team and C.D. Antofagasta.

Gabriel is originally from Panama City and currently plays as a forward for C.D. Antofagasta. He is largely regarded as Panama's best potential, and in the year 2007, he traveled to England twice to train with Manchester United and once to Spain to train with Valencia.

On his second flight to Manchester, he was hurt on the second day of practice and had to return home to play for ANAPROF side Chepo. In January 2010, Gabriel Torres traveled abroad again to play for the Colombian team. Later in July 2011, he moved to Zamora Fútbol Club, and there he became the all-time top goalscorer of the club. In August 2013, Gabriel signed as the first Designated Player with the Colorado Rapids of the Major League Soccer.

Gabriel Torres is best known as a forward football player. On September 6, 2006, he scored his first international goal in a friendly match against Guatemala. During his debut in Panama national team, he and striker Luis Tejada were teammates.

Gabriel was loaned to the 2007 Mustang Cup second position holder, La Equidad, for six months in 2008, and his loan contract was later extended for another six months. Against Deportivo Pereira, he scored with a 2-3 loss in his Colombian debut. Torres signed a one-year loan contract agreement with present Mustang Cup champions America Cali in 2009.

He was relegated to the bench after losing the pre-season due to his involvement in the UNCAF Nations Cup in 2009 with Panama. He spent most of his matches on the bench. He was released from America on March 30 after returning home late, the claims of which Torres has rejected. Gaby returned to Panama to join Chepo in the year 2009.

Torres earned his Panamanian debut against Trinidad and Tobago in a FIFA World Cup qualification match in October 2005. He also served as captain of the Panamanian U-20 team at the 2007 FIFA World Youth Cup in Canada.

Torres was nominated on Panama's 23-man team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches in Russia.
