With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Juilliard School, Howerton is most recognized for his part in 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' as Dennis Reynolds. He also worked as an executive producer and writer for the show.

His father, Glenn Franklin Howerton Jr., served in the military as a fighter pilot. His paternal grandfather, Glenn Howerton Sr., was also a fighter pilot, who fought in World War II.
