Glenn Tipton was born in Staffordshire, England, to Dough Tipton and Olive Tipton. He started his schooling at Olive Hill Primary School and has a brother, Gary Tipton. Gary was a guitarist for a local band. Glenn was initially taught to play the guitar by his mother, and he started playing the instrument when he was 19.

Glenn Tipton started his music career with the hard rock band 'Shave 'Em Dry.' His song 'Baptizm Of Fire', released by Tipton, continues to be one of the best solo albums available in the rock genre.

'Judas Priest' underwent a reform in 1996 with new vocalist Tim Owens. The new version was released in the albums 'Demolition' and 'Jugulator.' Glenn Tipton was the primary songwriter for 'Judas Priest.'
