Heather Louise McCartney was born in Tucson, Arizona, on December 31, 1962. Heather McCartney is the biological daughter of John Melvin See Jr, an American geologist, and Linda McCartney, an American photographer, musician, animal rights activist, vegetarian cookbook author, advocate, and entrepreneur from Tucson. Heather was adopted by Paul McCartney.

Paul McCartney married Heather Mills, an English former model, businesswoman, and activist. Things didn't work well between the couple, so they decided to part ways. 

Heather and Paul's separation following the divorce was a rough patch after they ended it in 2006, and it was finalized by 2008. Linda McCartney and Paul McCartney fell in love and tied the knot at Marylebone Town Hall on March 12, 1969. 

Linda had a tragic death from breast cancer in 1998, following which McCartney was utterly devastated. Even though Heather is not Paul's biological child, she has spoken several times about the impact he has had on her life. Heather McCartney and her stepdad have a wonderful friendship and bond.
