Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, the daughter of James C. Wood and Sandy Wood, was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. Her ancestors are indigenous French, Brazilian, and Scottish. Dani Probert, Wood's half-sister, was the former spouse of NHL star Bob Probert. Alasdair Gillies, a Scottish highland musician, is her grand uncle.
