His second single, 'Country Song', was used in a national commercial for Greene King IPA beer.
He released his debut album, named 'Jake Bugg' on October 15, 2012. He spent some time working in Malibu that year and worked with Iain Archer, Rick Rubin, and even Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, who provided drums for some of his songs.
His song 'Simple As This' was featured in the soundtrack of the 2014 movie 'The Fault In Our Stars'. He released his third album, 'On My One', in 2016, with the fourth album, 'Hearts That Strain' following shortly after in 2017. He also played shows in London and Nottingham. His song 'Feel Whats Good' was also used in the movie 'The Giver'.
He left Mercury Records and signed with Sony RCA in 2018 to revamp his career.
He released three new singles 'All I Need', 'Rabbit Hole', and 'Saviours Of The City' in 2020, which were accompanied by a short film. His latest album 'Saturday Night, Sunday Morning,' was released in 2021, and he announced an accompanying UK tour in the Spring of 2022. The album is pop-influenced and was released after a gap of four years from the previous album.
Jake Bugg is known to use his earnings for good and supports many charities, including Comic Relief, Cahonas Scotland, Nordoff Robbins, Small Steps Project, WaterAid, and Children in Need.
Jake Bigg began to receive recognition for his work in 2013 when he was nominated for the British Breakthrough Act award at the BRIT Awards. He was also nominated for Best Solo Artist and Best Album at the NME Awards in the same year.
He won the Best New Act award at the Q Awards in 2013 and the Best Three New Artist Award at the Japan Gold Disc Awards in 2014.
