Born on August 16, 2001, in San Candido, Italy, Sinner was first into skiing and football. However, after turning 13, despite his success as one of the best junior skiers in Italy, he gave up on the sport for tennis, which soon became a professional career for the young Italian.

He's known for rising his way through the ranks as a young talent and in very little time after turning pro in 2018. Sinner grabbed his first ATP Challenger title in February 2019, when he was just 17 years old. This ultimately blessed him to become the first person born in the year 2001 to reach a Challenger final, and he's the first-ever youngest Italian to win the Challenger title in the history of tennis!

He has also reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, making him the fifth Italian to reach that far. However, there he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas, leading Sinner away from victory.

In the European Open 2019, Sinner was the first youngest player in five years to get to an ATP semifinal.

Sinner, in the opener at the 2022 Mutua Madrid Open tournament, saved three match points against Tommy Paul to reach the second round. In his next match, he won against his opponent Alex De Minaur to achieve his 100th career win.
